Four Golfers Join N.H. Amateur Field
Enfield — Four more Upper Valley golfers added their names to the list of competitors for this summer’s New Hampshire Amateur, making the cut during yesterday’s 18-hole qualifying tournament at Montcalm Golf Club.
Hanover Country Club’s Vince Kimball and Zach Pollard, North Sutton’s Kurt Wuenschel and Charles McNeeley, a Cambridge, Mass., resident playing out of Lake Sunapee Country Club, were among the golfers moving on out of the qualifier. The New Hampshire Golf Association took the top 10 competitors and ties out of the field of 25, with a total of 12 advancing.
Crotched Mountain’s Jamin Somero won the low-score medal at 3-over-par 75, one shot ahead of Kimball, a former member of the Lebanon High golf team. Wuenschel was fourth, three shots back, while McNeeley finished at 80 and Pollard, another ex-Raider, shot 81.
Yesterday’s qualifier was the fourth of seven scheduled by the NHGA, which will stage the New Hampshire Amateur at Stratham’s Golf Club of New England on July 8-13.
