Letter: Thank You, Sen. Ayotte

To the Editor:

Many thanks to Mary Erdei for her informative letter in the April 22 Forum, “Shame on Ayotte and the Senate.” I now have reason to publicly thank Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., for her support of the National Rifle Association. The NRA knows that the best way to stop a mass shooting is for a civilian gun owner to draw a handgun and shoot the attacker. This would have stopped the Tucson shooting and nearly all other mass murders. Here in Hartford, no one is going to walk down Maple Street shooting people before being cut down by a swarm of 9 mm bullets. Many thanks to the NRA and Ayotte.
