Lorraine Theresa Mousley

South Strafford, Vt. — Lorraine Theresa Mousley, 76, died at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., Vt. Monday, June 9, 2014, after a long illness. She fought a long brave battle that she just couldn’t win. She was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Lebanon, N.H., the daughter of Rita (Castonguay) Martin & Ronald LaBombard. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1957.

On June 15, 1963 she married Max W. “Spike” Mousley. They lived most of their married lives in South Strafford. Lorraine worked as a waitress for the Indian Bowl in Hanover before starting her career at the Co-Op Food Store in Hanover when it was still on the Main Street in Hanover in 1962 as their bookkeeper until her retirement in 1996. Lorraine & Spike spent their summers in Derby, Vt. camping and having summer time fun with friends. Lorraine and Spike also enjoyed taking trips to Fox Woods to go gamble and shopping. After Spike’s death in 2011 Lorraine spent her summers at home in South Strafford fixing up her flower gardens and spending time with her family and friends.

Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, Max (Spike) Mousley; her mother, Rita (Castonguay) Martin; father, Ronald LaBombard; her brother, Andrew Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Grady; her biological son, Brian Martin; granddaughter, Amy Grady; brothers, Ronald (Ronnie) LaBombard & Trudy Savage of Etna, N.H., Edward (Eddie) LaBombard of Enfield, N.H.; sister, Marie Guerin of Enfield, N.H.; and brother, Albert and Yvonne Martin of Maine and Florida; aunt Jeanette Allen of San Angelo, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bayard (Mickey) & Mary Mousley and nephew, Bob Mousley of Thetford, Vt., Maxine & Dana Bean of Enfield, N.H., William (Bill) & Mary Ann Mousley of Lebanon, N.H.; many nices, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a calling hour on Friday, June 13, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, N.H. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Johnny Vadakkan, M.S. officiating, with a committal service following in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.
