Lauretta J. (Brock) (Brown) Brundage

Springfield, N.H. — Lauretta J. (Brock) (Brown) Brundage, 61, wife and soul mate of Eric Brundage, died with family by her side on Monday, June 9, 2014, at her home.

Born on Dec. 19, 1952, in Greenwich, Conn., she was the daughter of (late) Dr. Warren H. Brock and (late) Priscilla (Golden) Brock of New London, N.H.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Ian Brown and wife, Gabrielle of Wallingford, Conn., Ryan Brown and wife, Magdalena of Mansfield, Conn., Zach Brown and fiancée, Jennifer Waite of Stratford, Conn.; two sisters, Barbara Marsh and husband, Wesley of New Hartford, Conn., Heather Benotti and life partner, Fred Trofatter Jr. of Stratham, N.H.; four brothers, Chris Brock of Dunedin, Fla., Steve Brock and wife Muriel of Croyden, N.H., (late) Bradley Brock and wife, Barbara of Tuson, Aria., (late) Warren R. Brock of Milton Mills, N.H.; six grandchildren, Cara Brown, Zoey Brown, Katherine Brown, Wyatt Brown, Victor Hecht, Jake Hecht; many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Shawnee.

Laurie graduated from Greenwich High School, Conn., then from Berkley Secretarial School in N.Y. as an executive administrative secretary. She was an ambulance EMT and LNA in Conn. for many years where she raised her sons. In 1999, “Nana B” joined New London Hospital as an LNA, then as a clinical/clerical aid for the operating room, was honored as the New London Hospital Employee of the Year for 2008, and graduated with high honors from River Valley Community College as a Certified Medical Assistant. She also joined the EMS response team in Springfield. Laurie worked for the Newport Health Center as a CMA until her illness last year.

“Wowie” devoted her life to helping others and touched thousands of people, many of whom in their time of need. She was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and care giver: cherished life, family, friends and everyone around her.

She earned her place beside God and is soaring with new wings. ~Love You More! ~

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 1 p.m. at South Congregational Church, Newport, N.H. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, P.O. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257.
