Meriden — Robert E. Blake has joined Kimball Union Academy as chief financial officer. He will succeed Jim Gray, who plans to retire later this year.
Blake has worked in both the for- and not-for-profit enterprises, most recently as New London Hospital’s vice president and controller. Prior to that, he worked at groSolar and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Alliance in the Upper Valley, and at MFS Investment Management in Boston.
“His impressive track record in senior financial management, together with his commitment to mission-driven organizations, made him the ideal candidate to oversee Kimball Union’s financial strategic plan as we design the blueprint for the beginning of our third century,” Mike Schafer, head of school, said in a recent news release.
Blake holds a master’s degree in business administration from Penn State and a bachelor’s degree from Utica (N.Y.) College. He is also a certified public accountant and a certified cash manager.
In addition to directing the financial function of the school, he will serve on the academy’s senior administrative team.
