Montreal — Max Pacioretty had a hat trick as the Montreal Canadiens scored seven straight goals to rally for a 7-4 win over the Ottawa Senators on Friday night.

Andrei Markov, Mike Weaver, Lars Eller and David Desharnais also scored for Montreal, which trailed 3-0 less than 6 minutes into the game. Peter Budaj stopped 39 shots for his 10th win of the season for the Canadiens.

Zack Smith had two goals for Ottawa, while Ales Hemsky and Mika Zibanejad also scored. Craig Anderson stopped 16 of the 23 shots he faced.

Pacioretty completed his hat trick at 1:09 of the third and Desharnais made it 7-3 midway through the final period by beating Anderson up high.

The Senators got on the board again with 5:53 remaining as Zibanejad beat Budaj.

Blackhawks 4, Blue Jackets 3

Columbus, Ohio — Ben Smith tapped in a rebound with 3.7 seconds left on a wild scrum to give Chicago a victory over Columbus.

With time running out, Duncan Keith threw the puck on net and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky blocked it with his arm but it popped out of his reach. While he and two teammates scrambled to get to the loose puck, Smith got a stick on it and pushed it into the net.

Devils 2, Capitals 1

Newark, n.j. — Ryan Carter scored the tiebreaking goal with 4:54 remaining to lift New Jersey over Washington.

Tuomo Ruutu also scored for New Jersey, and Cory Schneider made 24 saves.

Alex Ovechkin scored for Washington, which lost its fifth straight. Jaroslav Halak stopped 29 shots.

Red Wings 3, Sabres 2

Detroit — Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist and Detroit held off Buffalo.

Darren Helm and Tomas Jurco also scored for Detroit. Danny DeKeyser had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 21 saves.

It was Red Wings coach Mike Babcock’s 413 win for Detroit, which ties him with Jack Adams for the all-time franchise record.

Flames 2, Panthers 1

Sunrise, Fla. — Mike Cammalleri scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period and Calgary beat Florida

Kenny Agostino also scored for Calgary and Joey MacDonald stopped 34 shots.

Vincent Trocheck scored for the Panthers, and Roberto Luongo made 15 saves.

Luongo started his first game since March 27th against Carolina when he left after the first period following a collision with the Hurricanes’ Radek Dvorak. Luongo sustained a mild concussion and missed three games.

The Flames won their second straight and fifth in their last eight.

The Panthers have lost five straight and eight of nine.
