Letter: Celebrating Barbershop Harmony
To the Editor:
New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan honored the International Barbershop Harmony Society’s 75th anniversary by proclaiming this past week as Barbershop Harmony Week in the state.
The North Country Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus of Hanover is celebrating its 36th anniversary as the Upper Valley’s representative of the International Barbershop Harmony Society. The North Country Chordsmen’s goals are to support Upper Valley charities, provide music education to members and prospective members, foster harmony and good will in the community and always entertain their audiences. The Chordsmen sing at events all over the Upper Valley in support of charitable causes and at civic events such as the Hanover 4th of July celebration, White River Junction Railroad Days and Christmas caroling. The chordsmen present an annual show each September at the Lebanon Opera House. They offer free singing lessons to new or prospective members, and all men in the Upper Valley are invited to join in the fun and fellowship with chorus members.
The public is welcome to our practices at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth each Tuesday evening at 7. For information about the chordsmen, contact Dave Sekula at 1-888-293-9191 or visit www.harmonize.com/ncchordsmen.
