Adeloid C. Benware
West Lebanon, N.H. — Adeloid C. Benware, age 90, died at his home on Aug. 31, 2013. He was born in Westfield, Vt. May 4, 1923, son of Clarence and Ellen Benware. He attended Westfield & Rochester, Vt. schools.
While working for Sunshine Feed Store he met his future wife, Doris Brown. In 1945, they were married and lived in White River Junction, Vt. before settling in Plainfield, N.H.
In 1955, Ad and Doris purchased Joe’s Equipment and ran that business until 1978. After retirement, winters were spent in Edgewater, Fla. before permanently settling at Quail Hollow.
Ad was a member and past Master of Franklin Masonic Lodge for 58 years. He was a lifetime member of both the National Rifle and Grafton County Fish and Game Associations.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Brown Benware; and three children, James (Susan) Benware of South Carolina, Stanley (Pamela) Benware of Fairlee, Vt. and Christine Paul of Lebanon, N.H. He is also survived by four sisters, Evelina Baird, Rutland, Vt., Rita Hatch, Burlington, Vt., Ruth Brown, S. Glens Falls, N.Y. and Rachel Densmore of N. Springfield, Vt. Survivors also include six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Olivet Baptist Church, 44 Maple Street, W. Lebanon on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. Fellowship with a light luncheon will follow at Quail Hollow. A graveside Masonic Service will be held at a later date.
