Margaret Elizabeth (Penn) Chartier
White River Junction, Vt. — Margaret “Maggie” Elizabeth (Penn) Chartier, 71, formerly of Lebanon, N.H., passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born on Sept. 6, 1941 in Lebanon to the late Ernest Clyde & Elizabeth Isabelle (Emerson) Penn.
Maggie graduated from Hanover High School, class of 1959. She held various jobs over the years and was most proud of her time with Citizens Bank.
Maggie enjoyed humming birds, Bingo and yard sales. She adored her grandchildren. She was most happy to be at home and felt best when needed. She was very generous and giving to all; placing others needs before her own. Maggie was known for her fantastic humor and sharp wit.
She is survived by her husband, William Chartier; four children, Daniel Penn, Deb Cantlin, Lisa Chartier and Eric Chartier; five siblings, Joyce, Velma, Lucille, Robert and Allen; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William David Chartier; and six siblings, Patricia, Ernest, Elizabeth, Marion, Isabel, Edward and Alan Sr.
Family and friends are invited to a calling hour on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Brayman officiating.
