Fundraiser Will Support Victims Of Domestic Abuse
Windsor — A new organization hopes to provide people fleeing domestic abuse access to household items, such as cookware, linens and towels.
Pots for People will hold a fundraiser on June 7, from 2-5 p.m., at The Path of Life Garden.
The event will include food, music, door prizes and a raffle-auction. Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for children age 3-12, and free for children under three.
“There are grants to help them obtain new, safe housing, but no money to make that a home,” and Upper Valley nonprofits that help people affected by domestic violence have little or no storage space for donated goods, Gaylin Perry, the founder of Pots for People, said in a recent news release.
Perry hopes to raise $6,500 to lease a 1,000 square-foot storage facility for a year. The facility would be used to store donated household items for people affected by domestic abuse. For more information, call 603-558-4244 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
