Parade of Lights Marches Through Strafford

Darien Ray, 7, giggles and waves her lantern as she and the rest of her classmates wait in a line to begin the lantern procession. Students from all grades of Strafford’s Newton Elementary school walked with lanterns they made with the help of artist-in-residence Gowri Savoor through the streets of South Strafford before their holiday concert yesterday. The parade was accompanied by a small percussion section that kept the group marching in step. (Valley News - Sarah Priestap)
