Gary Bartlett French

Haverhill, N.H. — Gary Bartlett French, 76, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at On The Green in Haverhill.

Gary was born Feb. 12, 1938, in East Topsham, Vt., the first of three children born to Iva (Carbee) French and Carroll Bartlett French.

Gary was home-schooled with a life-long interest in learning about nature, animals, planes (especially the NASA program), trains, and fire engines. He also enjoyed the older television comedies and westerns and had a large collection of old-time movies.

After his mother passed away, Gary lived for 22 years at On The Green in Haverhill and attended the Congregational Church nearby. The family wishes to express its appreciation to Janice and Albie Estes and their staff at On the Green for providing a very responsible and warm family environment. They would also like to thank Gary’s guardian, Gavin Reid for his thoughtful guidance.

Gary was predeceased by his father, C. Bartlett French, his mother, Iva, his step-father, Duncan Miller, and his sister, Gale (French) Clifford.

He is survived by his sister, Gaye Carol (French) Thompson, his half-sister, Irene Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford, Vt. There are no calling hours. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church, 122 School Street, Haverhill, NH 03765.
