Ruth C. Adams
Etna, N.H. — Ruth C. Adams, 93, a lifelong area resident, passed away at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. She was born on March 8, 1920, in Lebanon to the late Hart & Flora (Hadley) Crandall.
Ruth graduated from Lebanon High School, class 1938. While in school she was a member of both the Glee Club and Drama Club. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid in Etna. She was married to Robert H. Adams Sr. on June 15, 1940 at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon. Ruth had proudly worked as a secretary to the head master of the Lebanon schools. She also had worked for the Hanover School District. Ruth was family centered, she enjoyed cooking and reading.
Ruth and her husband raised six children; she is survived by Robert Adams Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Rebecca LaHaye and her husband, John, and Roberta Hayward and her husband, Patrick; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and three children, two daughters Robina Wilmott and Lila Crane, and a son Frederick Whitney, She was also predeceased by a brother and four sisters.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to her funeral at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at 11 a.m., burial will follow in the Hanover Center Cemetery.
