‘LockUp’ Supports Enfield Humane Society

Enfield — Local community leaders will be locked up in a kennel this Friday to raise money for Upper Valley Humane Society. They have set their own adoption fees and will be released only after raising “bail.”

Julia Griffin, town manager of Hanover; radio personality Captain John Chiarella; and Susie Burmann, New London volunteer firefighter and humane society volunteer are among those expected to take part.

Videos and photographs of the event will be posted on the humane society’s Facebook page and at www.youtube.com/uvhumane.

The nonprofit provides food, shelter, adoption services and medical care to homeless and unwanted pets. It also offers spay and neuter services to low-income families, cruelty prevention and investigation services, and help with animal behavior.

To make a donation toward the “adoption fees,” go to www.uvhs.org, or call 603-448-6888, ext. 100.
