Town House Outhouse Goes Up in Strafford

Silas Treadway of Strafford installs rafters on the timber frame for the outhouse behind the Strafford Meeting House on Dec. 7, 2013. Treadway, a professional timber framer, volunteered his time, along with several other professional builders from Strafford, to construct and erect the frame, which has been about a year in the making. Visitors to the meetinghouse currently rely on a plastic temporary outhouse, and the new building, which features a composting toilet, will include electricity as well.
