Dartmouth Raises Pay 1.5%
Hanover — Non-temporary Dartmouth College staff hired on or before March 1 will receive a 1.5 percent pay raise to their base pay for the coming fiscal year, according to an announcement distributed to employees.
“Present financial constraints, and the economy as a whole, have resulted in a lower increase than last year,” said the announcement, signed by Lynn Baker, the college’s interim vice president for human resources, and Richard G. Mills, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “While not at the level many may have hoped, the Dartmouth wage program is designed to grow base pay to assist in meeting the increased cost of living that our community experienced and to acknowledge high performance contributors.”
Some employees who are under certain performance review programs will not be able eligible for the raise.
Additionally, a 0.5% pool “to recognize extraordinary contributors” will also be available at the discretion of the provost, vice presidents, and deans.
Wages for two unions — the Service Employees International Union and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees members — are negotiated separately. — Staff report
