Wedding: Smith — Shirley

Hanover — Allison Katherine Shirley and Jason Andrew Smith were married on Aug. 17, 2013.

The wedding took place at Earlville United Methodist Church in Earlville, N.Y., in a ceremony presided over by the Rev. Nancy Araujo.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Anna Keegan. Bridesmaids were Laurie Smith and Amy Smith, sisters of the bridegroom, and Melanie Fischer.

Mohit Honwad was the best man. Groomsmen were Ben Shirley, brother of the bride, and Ben Reschovsky. Brad Shirley, another brother of the bride, was an honorary groomsman, as he was deployed as a captain with the Marine Corps in Afghanistan at the time of the wedding.

Andrew Shirley, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Colgate Inn in Hamilton, N.Y.

The bride is the daughter of Susan C. and Eric A. Shirley, of Hanover. She graduated from Hanover High School in 2004 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., in 2008. She is employed as a community relations associate for the Pace Law School Women’s Justice Center in White Plains, N.Y.

The bridegroom is the son of Melva C. and Jack S. Smith, of Wilmington, Del. He graduated from Tower Hill School in Wilmington in 2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences at Colgate University in 2007. He is employed as a senior analyst at USI Insurance Services in Valhalla, N.Y.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii. They are residents of White Plains.
