Lebanon Rotary Club 34th Annual Auction Raises $21,000
Lebanon — Rotary Club of Lebanon’s 34th annual auction on Oct. 5 raised more than $21,000 for local nonprofits. Of that, $10,000 will support a new community education program at West Central Behavioral Health in Lebanon, and the remainder will go to other local charities.
The community education program, “Mental Health First Aid,” a certification course for teachers, law enforcement agents, health professionals and others, aims to help communities better understand mental illness and respond to psychiatric emergencies.
This year’s Rotary event included a live auction with auctioneers Peter Roberts and Paul Roberts, of Lebanon, as well as an online auction and a silent auction. The auction items, solicited by Rotarians, were donated by individuals and businesses. They included a week’s stay in Florida, a hot air balloon ride, fly-fishing instruction, golf packages, a singing Valentine, tickets to arts events, ski passes and a scenic train ride.
Rotary Club of Lebanon meets on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. in the Dwinell Room at Harvest Hill. For more information, go to www.rotarylebanonnh.org.— Staff report
