Arcadia, Fla. — Vera Dickinson, age 83, passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Vera was born Nov. 25, 1929, in East Barnard, Vt., daughter of Harold and Merle Potwin. She married Frank “Dick” Dickinson on April 10, 1947. In 1972, they purchased a home in Arcadia where they eventually retired. They spent their summers in Sharon Vt.
Vera is survived by her daughter, Lenoura “Lenny” and husband, Ron Vezina, of Windsor Vt., her son, Paul Dickinson, of Barnard; three grandchildren, Michele, her husband, Chris Shepherd, of Windsor Vt., Malisa, her husband, Shawn Williams, of Brownsville, Vt., Renee, her husband, Geoff Falconer, of Huntington Vt.; five great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Simon Shepherd, of Windsor, Nathaniel and Ashley Williams, of Brownsville, Jeffrey Falconer of Huntington, Vt.; one sister, Ramona Davenport, of Halifax Mass.; one brother, Romaine Potwin of Barnard, Vt.; many nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Nancy Richmond Arcadia. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; son, Richard; seven brothers, Nelson, Gerald, Harold, Vincent, Roger, Robert and Louis Potwin; and five sisters, Catherine Baker, Rita Bumps, Louise Fisher, Marjorie Jones, Barbara Rhodes; many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at the Rachael S. Harlow United Methodist Church 165 Main Street Windsor Vt. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. Also a celebration of life will be held in June at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Vt.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
