Stanley W. Langley
White River Jct., Vt. — Stanley W. Langley, 86, a former longtime resident of West Lebanon, N.H. died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born Oct. 1, 1926, a son of the late Charles O. and Lena B. (White) Langley. Stanley graduated from West Lebanon High School Class of 1944, where he was class president his senior year. He went on to enlist in the Army Air Force, serving during World War II before receiving an honorable discharged at the rank of Corporal. He returned to the Upper Valley and on May 7, 1950, was married to Jean Reid in West Lebanon. Stanley resided in West Lebanon for most of his life, living in the home he was born in on South Main St. He worked in wholesale and retail power equipment sales at R.N. Johnson of Walpole, N.H., Joe’s Equipment Service of West Lebanon, N.H. and Kelton’s of West Hartford, Vt. He later worked for Mascoma Savings Bank in Lebanon as part of the collections department. In later years Stanley helped to start the West Lebanon Alumni Association and served as its first president
Stanley was predeceased by his wife on Jan. 20, 2011; four brothers Averon, Everett, Raymond and Howard Langley; and two sisters, Evelyn Harrala and Berna Hartson.
He is survived by a daughter, Shelly J. Langley of Hartford, Vt.; three sons, Stephen R. Langley of White River Jct., Scott C. Langley of Post Mills, Vt. and Shawn R. Langley of Hartford; five grandchildren, Heather Villar, Adam Langley, Anisa Baczek, Erin Nichols and Ailyn Harlow-Langley; four great-grandchildren, Dagney, Darby, Madeline, and Logan; and many nieces and nephews.
