Hat Trick Boosts Dartmouth

Worcester, Mass. — Ali Savage posted her second hat trick of the season as the Dartmouth College field hockey team picked apart Holy Cross, 6-1, in a nonleague contest at Hart Field on Sunday.

Savage helped blow open a 2-1 Dartmouth lead at halftime by scoring two of her goals in the second half as the Big Green (3-4) used a four-goal second half to win. The native of Australia got Dartmouth on the board in the 25th minute and completed her trifecta with strikes in the 57th and 69th minutes.

Savage also had an assist on a Janine Leger strike. Maggie Scanlon notched the game-winning goal in the first half for Dartmouth, and Eliza Becker also struck the twine for the visitors, who picked up five saves from goalkeeper Ellen Meyer.

Dartmouth is off to Philadelphia for a pair of games next weekend, visiting Drexel on Friday and Penn for an Ivy League affair on Sunday.
