Letter: Great Program at Senior Center
To the Editor:
I believe that the Lebanon Senior Center deserves commendation for the wonderful program the employees and volunteers put together on Oct. 16. It was a tribute to recognize its volunteers, who provide many hours of service to the organization.
The theme was horse racing, complete with music heard at the race track. Each table had a small wooden horse with a number and the larger horses were lined up on a double wire strung between columns, with numbers above. The beauty of it was that audience participation was encouraged and even a handicapped person could toss a small sand bag toward numbered holes in the wooden form. Three holes had no numbers, but if the bag went into one with a number, that was how far the designated horse would travel on the wire above. I think “Horseradish” was the winner, and he received a wreath for his neck. Everyone seemed to enjoy the activity, and our coordinator of activities and volunteers did a great job as M.C.
Everyone enjoyed the refreshments, drinks and snacks. A lot of work went into this afternoon of fun for us seniors, and I am sure we all had an enjoyable time.
Thank you to everyone who worked or participated in any way.
