Letter: Congress Needs to Do Its Job

To the Editor:

Congress needs to do its job and pass a budget. Prior to that, representatives should learn what their job is, ask themselves if they are well suited to the position, and make sure that they are interested in performing their duties. Prior to becoming a congressman, candidates need to ask themselves: Can I work with people who do not agree with me? Can I negotiate and compromise to solve problems? Can I do this without creating divisions? If the answers to any of these questions is “no,” then any person in Congress or considering running for Congress should realize that the job is just not for them.
