A Spark of Brilliance: Groups Team Up for Rail Trail Hike

Andover, n.h. — Spark! Community Center co-founder Lisa Green prefers flat, easy trails when she goes hiking while her autistic and epileptic son, 23-year-old Patrick, favors more vigorous climbs. It’s mom who’s getting the desired terrain for the first initiative of the Spark/Zack’s Place Outing Club. In a unique collaboration between nonprofit enrichment centers — Zack’s Place is located in Woodstock, Spark in Lebanon — the club is hiking the western-most 40 miles or so of the Northern Rail Trail, New Hampshire’s multi-use recreation pathway covering 48 miles in total between Boscawen and downtown Lebanon.
