Lynn MacGillivray

Windsor, Vt. — Lynn MacGillivray, 71, a resident of Windsor, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning Jan. 28, 2014, in her home. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Sept. 28, 1942, the daughter of Robert and Janet Gilray and was raised in Chatham, N.J. She has a sister Anne Lee Chesterman and is predeceased by her brother 2nd/Lt Robert Bruce Gilray, Jr, USA of 82nd Airborne Division, who was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star for his services in Vietnam.

She graduated Chatham High School class of 1960 and attended Katharine Gibbs School. She also attended Mary Burnham School in North Hampton, Mass. for a year during high school. She married Henry E. Eberhardt, III also of Chatham, N.J. Lynn was a loving and devoted mother to her children Michael, Jennifer, Heidi, and Robert, spending most of her life raising her children in Cornish, N.H. She also has five grandchildren: Erika, Amanda, Zach, Jack and Emma.

Lynn was an accomplished pianist and an avid gardener. In her earlier days, she was a world-class swimmer having once beat a teammate that later went on to the Olympics. She studied and loved to dance ballet and was recruited by a dance company in New York City. Her toe shoes are among her favorite things on display in her bedroom.

She worked as a Professional Administrator at Mt. Ascutney Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and at Dartmouth College. She owned and ran a floral design business making beautiful arrangements for weddings and occasions.

Her children are eternally grateful for her love, support and guidance, and all her best qualities that are instilled in them and in their families. Her beautiful personality and loving ways, remain the hallmark of her life.

Visiting time with the family will be held at 1 p.m. with memorial services to follow at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the United Methodist Church, 165 Main St, Windsor, VT 05089. Flowers may be sent to the Church on Saturday.
