Harold King Ballou, Jr.

Thetford Center, Vt. — Harold King Ballou, Jr., 64 died suddenly Friday, April 11, 2014, at his home with his wife by his side.

He was born Aug. 4, 1949, in Randolph, Vt. the son of Harold K and Viola (Smith) Ballou.

Harold grew up and attended school in South Royalton. He married his high school sweetheart Virginia (Ginny) Higgins on July 15, 1971 in Norwich, Vt. and lived in White River Jct., Vt. before moving to Thetford Center.

Harold worked at P&C Cross Company for over 20 years and then at Ross Express, a job he really liked until medical problems stopped him from driving trucks.

Harold loved to hunt, drive trucks — the bigger the better, and his favorite thing to do was play and spend time with his children and grandchildren, and traveling on vacations with his wife.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ginny Ballou; his son, Harold (Dusty) Ballou and fiancé, Amada Asbury; his daughter, Erica Mullen and her husband, James; four grandchildren, Harold K. IV (Hal) and Alyson Ballou and Taylor and John Mullen. He also leaves behind seven siblings and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Jack, sister Caroline and an infant sister.

At Harold’s request there will be no funeral services.

The Hale Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Thetford Center is in charge of arrangements.
