Prospective Hosts Invited to Fresh Air Fund Meeting
Lebanon — An informational meeting for prospective Fresh Air Fund host families is set for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Kimball Library. The meeting, sponsored by the Randolph Fresh Air Volunteer Committee, will include firsthand stories about hosting children from New York City.
“Welcoming a child to your home for a week or two isn’t about planning a lot of activities,” organizers said in recent news release. “It’s about opening your heart, sharing your home and changing a life.”
Each summer, more than 4,000 children visit volunteer host families in rural, suburban and small town communities across 13 states and in Canada.
Since 1877, the nonprofit has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities.
