Letter: Who’s Waging the Battle?
To the Editor:
Mahmoud Abbas was called the “embattled president” of stateless Palestinians in the Nov. 30 article “UN Gives Palestine New Status.” As Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu has said, it is a basic fact that if Palestinians laid down their arms, there would be peace, but if only Israel laid down its arms, the Palestinians would continue to attack Israel. Israel gave some of its land to the Palestinians, but most Palestinians say they deserve all of Israel’s land. For the writers to call Abbas an “embattled president” is incorrect, misleading and probably indicates a bias.
