Lucia Batchelder Davis

North Haverhill, N.H. — Lucia Batchelder Davis, 98, formerly of Piermont, N.H., passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, N.H.

Lucia was born on Nov. 27, 1915, in Bradford, Vt., a daughter of Alfred and Lucia (Whitten) Batchelder.

Her family resided in Bradford for many years. Lucia S. Davis played violin in Bradford for silent movies. For 30 years after closing their real estate business, Ellis and Lucia, alternated between Florida in the winter and New Hampshire in the summer.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Ellis Davis; by her two brothers, Clifton and Stephens Batchelder.

Lucia is survived by her daughter, Patricia E. Davis, her son, Brook Davis and daughter, Dawn Boynton and husband, David; her son, Charles E. Davis, his wife Marialice and their three daughters, Caroline Cullinane and husband Kevin, Nicole Dion and husband, Jeremy, and Amy Denson and husband Michael; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law, Irene Holoway and Eleanor Trevithick of Piermont, N.H.; and a special friend, Mae Davis of Woodsville, N.H.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on June 28, at 11 a.m., at the Woodsville United Methodist Church, Maple Street, Woodsville, N.H. with Pastor Clint Brake officiating.

Burial will follow in the South Lawn Cemetery, Piermont, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in her memory to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
