Letter: What the Cartoon Omitted

To the Editor:

I must say I appreciated your political cartoon of Aug. 26 showing a hard-working Republican entrepreneur. In the cartoon, the Republican says, “I believe in equality” while pointing to a graphic showing a mass of people being equal to one person holding a bag of money. The cartoonist forgot one thing, however. He did not show the masses of people with the bags of money they earned working for the entrepreneur. Equality can mean many things, and everyone should have an equal chance for a good job in a strong economy.
