Claremont Kiwanis Club Collects For Sandy Relief

Claremont — With a steady stream of donors all day long, the Kiwanis Club nearly filled a 24-foot truck yesterday with an assortment of items destined for New Jersey to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

“It is amazing the generosity of people,” said Kiwanis Club member Vic Bergeron said last evening. “We have every nook and hole (almost) filled.”

Bergeron said they will be back in front of Wal-Mart today and expect to fill the rest of the truck.

Tomorrow morning they will depart for Key Port, N.J.

Among the items Kiwanis is accepting are non-perishable food, toiletries, water, paper towel, diapers, underwear, dog and cat food.
