‘Eco-Challenge’ Registration Opens This Week
With Earth Day approaching, organizers of a local “eco-challenge” are asking people to “change one habit for Earth.”
Teams or individuals choose sustainability-related goals to work on between tomorrow and 22. Participants can share their stories at a potluck dinner on April 22 (Earth Day) at 6 p.m. at Norwich Congregational Church. Cheese, bread and cider will be provided.
Organizers suggest creating at least one measurable goal, perhaps in the suggested categories of energy, food, transportation, trash or water.
Some ideas include going vegetarian, creating less trash, avoiding processed food and trying alternative ways of getting to work. Participants are encouraged to blog about their experiences, and bloggers’ names will be entered in a raffle.
The challenge is sponsored by Catamount Earth Institute and Upper Valley Localvores.
