Registered Nurse Honored by N.H. Governor’s Commission

Claremont — Registered Nurse Janet Carroll recently received the Jennifer Pierce-Weeks Award of Excellence from the New Hampshire Governor’s Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence. The award honors a sexual assault nurse examiner who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to quality, compassionate, patient-centered care for sexual assault victims.

Carroll works at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and in the Emergency Department at Valley Regional Hospital.

In a recent news release, Tracy Pike, Valley Regional’s nursing supervisor in the ED, called Carroll “a tireless advocate for all patients” who come to the emergency room. She also cited her commitment to attending to sexual assault victims.

“She will go anywhere, at any hour, to respond to a sexual violence case,” Pike said.

Carroll has been nationally certified as a sexual assault nurse examiner since 2005 and as a SANE trainer since 2008.
