Special Needs Center Seeks Volunteers
Lebanon — The Special Needs Support Center in Lebanon is looking for volunteers, including board members. The nonprofit’s mission is “to help children and adults with special needs, and their families, meet their unique challenges through advocacy and program support.”
Longtime members Robin Cushman Phillips, Rita Murdoch and Peter White recently stepped down from the board after completing various lengths of service, and Risa Mornis, of Hanover, joined the board, which now has 11 members. Up to four seats on the board are empty, and the organizations is accepting nominations. In addition to board members, volunteers are also needed to help with other activities, Philip Eller, executive director, said last week.
The Special Needs Support Center held its annual meeting earlier this month. The meeting included “When Bad Things Happen to Small Children: A Brief Look at Developmental Trauma,” a presentation by board member Barbara van Hoff, a registered play therapist and licensed marriage and family therapist.
