Celebrity ‘Lockup’ Will Support Humane Society
Enfield — Volunteers will go into “lockup” on Friday to raise money for the Upper Valley Humane Society. Organizers say “local celebrities” that day will be shut inside a kennel at the shelter to await donations so they can post “bail."
The donations will help the humane society provide food, shelter and adoption services, and medical care for homeless and unwanted pets, and support its cruelty prevention and investigation services, spay/neuter services for low income families, and animal behavior programs.
The participants will include Kay Hillinger, a UVHS board member; Kim Jones, a veterinarian at Stoney Brook Veterinary Hospital; Pam Perkins, broker and owner of Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty; and Everett Pollard, president of Northcape Design Build.
Donations will be accepted tup to the day of the event. To donate, go to www.razoo.com/team/2014-Rescue-Me-Celebrity-Team or contact Andrea Denhart, UVHS’ donor relations coordinator, at 603-448-6888, ext. 100.
Videos and photos of the event will be posted at www.youtube.com/uvhumane and the humane society’s Facebook page. — Staff report
