Alan G. Courtemanche
Clearwater, Fla. — Alan G. Courtemanche, 63 of Clearwater died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born in Lebanon, N.H. and attended Lebanon schools.
Alan was a unique and free spirit who marched to the beat of his own drum. He will be remembered for his love of music and family, as well as his sense of humor and empathy for the underdog. He made many friends across the country, having lived in New Hampshire, Vermont, California, and most recently, Florida. His favorite job was with the U.S. Forest Service in California, where he was able to be outside with nature.
Alan practiced martial arts for many years and enjoyed cruising in his car. Music was a huge part of his life and he performed at various locations, but oftentimes he could be found playing guitar on the beach. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched, but we know that he is playing his music with the Angels, with his canine companion, Tymeboy, at his side.
He leaves behind his mother and father, Shirley Martin of Clearwater, and Gordon Courtemanche of Rochester, N.H.; sisters, Lois (Doug) Kerr of Norwich, Vt. and Lynn (Donnie) Langley of Enfield, N.H.; brother, Wayne (Judi) Courtemanche of Lompoc, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones, and friends throughout the United States.
Arrangements were handled by Sunset Point Funeral Home of Clearwater, and an on-line guest book is available at www.internationalfuneralhome.com. A celebration of Alan’s life was held in Safety Harbor, Fla. on Aug. 14, 2013.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family asks that you pause, reflect and appreciate the beauty of nature that surrounds us, which Alan so enjoyed.
