Henry Rahmann, Jr.
White River Junction, Vt. — Henry Rahmann, Jr., 85, of White River Junction, formerly of Califon, N.J., husband of 63 years to Marion C. Rahmann (nee Tiger), died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Hanover, N.H.
He is survived by daughter, Crista Renza and her husband, Louis Renza of Hanover; son, Henry “Skeeter” Rahmann III and his wife, Donna Rahmann of Califon; daughter, Marga Rahmann and her husband, Lee Michaelides of Norwich, Vt.; granddaughter, Alexandra C. Rahmann of Brookline, Mass.; grandson, Henry Rahmann IV of Califon; and step-grandsons, Shayne Renza of Rye, N.Y., Charles Thonus of Potsdam, N.Y., and Paul Thonus of Califon. He is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was born in Fairmount, N.J., and was predeceased by his parents Henry and Hermine Rahmann, and his brother, William.
Henry was a long time dairy and crop farmer in the Califon area and a member of the New Jersey Farm Bureau; served as director of the Welsh Farm Milk Producers Association; served on the Washington Township Planning Board and, succeeding his father, was the past president/trustee of the Fairmount Cemetery Association, serving on the cemetery board from 1970 to 2009. Henry also worked for A. Silliman Excavating Co. for more than 10 years.
Services will be held at Coughlin Funeral Home, Califon, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairmount Cemetery Association or the Califon Fire Department.
