Vermont State Police Conduct Saturation Patrols Through The Weekend

  • Vermont State Police Trooper Tyler Silva speaks with a motorist along Interstate 91 in Hartland during a saturation patrol on May 25, 2018. With Memorial Day weekend launching the summer driving season, 16 troopers and five Department of Motor Vehicles enforcement officers were on highways in the vicinity of the Interstate 89 and 91 interchange as part of a federally funded Click It or Ticket initiative. State police this week urged motorists to slow down, use seatbelts, avoid the distraction of electronic devices, and to change lanes and move over, if possible, when they encounter emergency vehicles or highway maintenance crews. Failure to do so can carry a $249 fine and five points on a driver’s license. (Valley News - Geoff Hansen) Copyright Valley News. May not be reprinted or used online without permission.
