WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Hartford High boys lacrosse team remained undefeated Monday with a 12-2 defeat of visiting Stowe.

Joseph Barwood produced four goals and an assist and Ryan Spaulding had three goals and two assists. Cavan Benjamin had two goals and two assists and Brayden Trombly and Austin St. Peter each put up a goal and an assist.

Hartford (11-0), which reached last season’s Vermont Division II title game and ended the campaign 17-2, dropped the Raiders to 5-6 and visits Spaulding (5-5) on Wednesday.

Gilford 9, Lebanon 5

LEBANON — Otto Bourne and Abe Pearson each scored twice and Benji Madory had two assists but the Raiders fell to 4-6 while the visitors improved to 4-5.

“Hard to win a game when you forget how to throw and catch,” said Lebanon coach Cole Flannery, whose NHIAA Division III team received 10 saves from James Barnett and hosts Plymouth (7-2) on Wednesday.

Middlebury 8, Woodstock 7 (OT)

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The Wasps fell to 6-5 with the loss, which snapped a three-game win streak. Woodstock hosts Mount Anthony on Tuesday.

Milford 10, Stevens 2

MILFORD, N.H. — The Cardinals fell to 0-7 and are back in action Tuesday at home against Bishop Brady.

 

GIRLS LACROSSEWoodstock 14, Brattleboro 3

WOODSTOCK — Defense sparked offense for the Wasps (4-5), who received five goals from Isabel Konijnenberg and four goals and two assists from Fiona Piconi.

Claudia Shoemaker added two goals and an assist and Audrey Emery made eight saves for Woodstock, which visits Harwood on Wednesday.

Hartford 16, Stowe 5

STOWE, Vt. — Madison Barwood had five goals and the Hurricanes moved to 12-0. Alice Piper and Audrey Cadwell each had four goals for Hartford, which is trying to repeat as Vermont Division II champion, visits Green Mountain Valley on Wednesday.

Hanover 14, Goffstown 7

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — The Bears raised their record to 9-1 with the road victory. Hanover travels to Keene on Wednesday.

GILFORD, N.H. — The Raiders fell to 3-7 and head to Trinity on Friday.

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — Nick Brill had three hits, two RBIs and seven stolen bases to lift the Raiders (6-6). ConVal is 1-12.

Lebanon received a double and a home run from Zach Aldrich and visits Laconia (0-10) on Wednesday.

Fall Mountain 7, Mascoma 3

WEST CANAAN — Zach Thompson hit a double and a two-run home run for the Royals (2-8). The Wildcats are 9-3.

Cayden Marquay allowed five hits and six runs during 6 2/3 innings, striking out four Tigers and walking six.

Mascoma, which received two singles from Mason Ballard, is at Newport on Wednesday. The Royals won the rivals’ first meeting, 14-1, last week.

Hanover 11, Plymouth 1 (6 inn.)

PLYMOUTH, N.H. — The Bears (12-0) built a 9-1 lead during the fourth inning. Starting pitcher Freddy Mierke and reliever Jake Toulmin each went three innings, allowing a combined three hits.

Oliver Sperry had two hits and two RBIs for Hanover, which hosts Laconia (0-10) on Tuesday.

Inter-Lakes 8, Newport 0

NEWPORT — The Tigers’ losing streak reached 10 with Monday’s loss to the Lakers. Newport hosts Mascoma on Wednesday.

Hartford 12, Windsor 2

WINDSOR — The Hurricanes used a seven-run second inning to cruise to 8-2. Windsor fell to 1-10.

Cam Bradford had two hits, including a three-run home run, for the visitors. Solly Flores earned the victory, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out one batter. Johnny Clark had two hits for Windsor, whose starter, Trevor Lagrow, allowed five hits and 10 runs while striking out one batter.

“We have had big leads in a couple of games this year and let our opponents back into them,” Hartford coach Bill Vielleux said. “Today, we stayed focused and finished the job.”

Hartford visits Fair Haven (6-6) on Wednesday and Windsor is at Otter Valley (5-6) the next afternoon.

Stevens 16, Newfound 8

BRISTOL, N.H. — The Cardinals’ strong recent run of play continued in the win over the Bears. Stevens (7-5) hosts Hopkinton on Thursday.

Oxbow 16, Lamoille 6

HYDE PARK, Vt. — The Olympians picked up their second win of the season, improving to 2-9. Oxbow hosts Hazen on Tuesday.

SOFTBALLPlymouth 14, Hanover 9

PLYMOUTH — A 3-3 tie after 1 1/2 innings evaporated when the hosts scored thrice during their second at-bat, followed by two runs during the fourth frame and five times during the fifth inning.

Emma Campfield and Kit Tullar each had three hits for the Bears (1-10), whose starting pitcher, Jess Lobb, allowed 11 hits and 14 runs while striking out eight Bobcats and walking seven. Hanover gets a rematch with Plymouth on Wednesday at the Dresden Athletic Fields.

Hartford 33, Fair Haven 5 (5 inn.)

FAIR HAVEN, Vt. — The Hurricanes (8-2) accumulated 20 hits, including three home runs, and routed the Slaters (2-8). Madison Willey hit a two-run round-tripper and Miranda Rogers swatted a grand slam.

Logan Evans hit a two-run home run for Hartford, which hosts Windsor (4-7) on Wednesday.

ConVal 14, Lebanon 2 (6 inn.)

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — The Cougars (8-4) parlayed five hits and eight walks into five first-inning runs and dropped the Raiders to 2-10. Lebanon suffered its seventh consecutive loss.

Aylah Salls led the visitors with a single and a double and Ashlee Blashock also recorded a double. Ava Kaercher pitched Lebanon’s final five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out six opponents and walking five.

The Raiders are at Laconia (5-7) on Thursday, the second of their three games this week, all on the road.

WEST CANAAN — Mascoma’a Aubrey Meveagaci had two hits, including a triple. Piper Morgan walked three times.

BRANDON, Vt. — The Otters (7-4) scored the game’s final four runs during the fourth inning, rallying from a 13-10 deficit against the Yellowjackets (4-7). Windsor visits Hartford (8-2) on Wednesday.

HYDE PARK, Vt. — Faith Eastman had four hits and Mazie Bourgeois, Braylee Phelps and Lily Lahaye each hit home runs for the Olympians (11-0). Oxbow hosts Lake Region on Thursday.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. — Brooke Hecker, Hannah Watson, Chloe Masillo, Charlotte Nunan and Maggie Pierce produced singles victories and the pairing of Tess Delisle and Maggie Zillian triumphed in doubles for the Wasps.

Lebanon 6, Bishop Brady 3

CONCORD — The Raiders won their fourth straight match and have claimed seven of their last eight.

Lebanon’s singles victories came from Aesha Soni, Hailey Schibuola, Mari Utell and Hannah Rich.

In doubles, Soni and Karanwal and Tell and Rich were triumphant. The Raiders (8-5) conclude the regular season at home against Monadnock on Wednesday.
