William Edmund Tourville, Jr.

Canaan, N.H. — William Edmund Tourville, Jr. walked through the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at age 64. He was affectionately known as Bill to his family and friends.

Bill was born on July 26, 1949, to William and Beatrice (LaFountain), Sr. in Hanover. He grew up attending schools in the Lebanon School District and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1969. Upon graduating, his professional career involved driving tractor trailers for Phil Gomez and Gordon Bagley. He then joined his father at the City of Lebanon Highway Department and after several years, went to work for the Town of Hanover Highway Department. Bill retired from the Town of Hanover in 2007.

Bill is loved dearly by his wife of 40 years, Barbara, and their children: Tracy and Charles Beck of New Hampton, N.H., Edmund and Cheryl Tourville of Canaan, and Adam and Kathryn Tourville of Meredith, N.H.; and his sister, Pamela and her husband, Michael Beauchene. Bill and Barbara have six grandchildren who loved their Papa very much. Bill’s network of family and friends touches many throughout the Upper Valley.

Through the years, Bill had many hobbies. He loved year-round outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, walks, camping, and passed this love on to his children and grandchildren. He especially loved his grandchildren and watching them grow.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Helena’s Catholic Church in Enfield. Graveside services will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon. A celebration of Bill’s life will start at 12 noon at Enfield Community Center at Huse Park in Enfield.
