HOLLIS, N.H. — The Hanover High girls lacrosse team continued its trend of alternating wins and losses so far this season, dropping a 16-9 decision at Hollis-Brookline on Wednesday to fall to 3-3.

Sophomore Maeve Lee led the Bears with three goals, while juniors Kali McDonnell and Sadie Higgins and senior Caroline Adams each scored twice.

“Really hope we get to see them again,” Hanover head coach Sarah Martin said. “We made a lot of unforced errors and didn’t show up to play with enough intensity and confidence.”

The Bears will be back home Friday against Alvirne.

GIRLS TENNIS Rutland 5, Woodstock 2

RUTLAND — The Wasps (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Raiders on Tuesday, despite victories from sophomore Hannah Watson at No. 2 singles and sophomore Sophia Nisimblat at No. 3.

“This was a well-played match by both teams, with a few matches that I feel could have gone either way,” Woodstock co-head coach Joe DeFoor said. “It’s good to see two teams compete so hard, play fair, and walk away knowing they represented themselves well. We really look forward to playing Rutland’s team again at home later this month.”

Next up for the Wasps is a trip to Bellows Falls on Thursday.
