The Valley News has been selected to add two journalists — a photojournalist and a climate and environment reporter — to our newsroom through Report for America, a national service program that boosts local news by harnessing community support.

Donate to Report for America to support reporter and photographer placements in our newsroom

Report for America, an initiative of the 501(c)3 nonprofit The GroundTruth Project, is placing hundreds of journalists in local newsrooms for one year by funding half of their salaries and asking news organizations to engage their communities to fundraise the rest.
Through a competitive application process, the Valley News earned two of these positions -- a climate/environment reporter and a general assignment photojournalist -- and we need your support to fund the second half of their salaries.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Report for America earmarked for these two yearlong positions at the Valley News.
If you prefer to send a check payable to the Valley News you can mail it to PO Box 877, Attn: RFA, White River Jct., VT 05001-0877. Checks made payable to the Valley News are not tax deductible.
Editorial independence
Valley News editors, reporters and photographers operate independently of Report for America and its funders, and maintain editorial control over all content. Donors do not get to influence the RFA reporter/photographer or the journalism.
