Rec Briefs: Ragged Mountain Hires New GM

Danbury, n.h. — Ragged Mountain introduced Jay Gamble as its new general manager in a press release by the mountain’s parent company, Pacific Group Resorts, Inc. on Monday.

Gamble, a 37-year veteran in the ski industry, replaces former GM Ryan Schramm, who was recently named GM of Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Colorado. He was previously the GM of Mount Sunapee Resort for 20 years, and has served on the board of directors of Ski New Hampshire for that same span. He has also worked at Killington in Vermont, Sunday River in Maine and for Poma of America, a lift manufacturer, prior to his time in Sunapee.

CCBA Hosts Hoop Shoot

Lebanon — The Elks Hoop Shoot is returning to the CCBA’s Witherell Recreation Center on Saturday. Basketball players ages 8 through 13 are invited to participate. Registration is free and begins at 9 a.m., The Hoop Shoot begins at 9:30 a.m.

UVHA Heads To Boston

The Upper Valley Hockey Association is offering a limited number of tickets to Saturday’s home Boston Bruins game against the Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. The Storm’s Squirt 1 team will be playing on the ice between periods.

Referee Clinic in WRJ

White River Junction — The Hartford Parks and Recreation Department will hold a basketball officials clinic for young and first-time referees on Dec. 2 from 1-2 p.m. at the Dothan Brook School.

The clinic will give newcomers an introduction to the sport and the expectations and responsibilities for the referees who work games. pre-registration for this free event is required at www.hartfordrec.com.
