RANDOLPH — Voters at Town Meeting on Saturday opted for the status quo.

In Saturday’s floor meeting at Chandler Music Hall, Randolph voters rejected two articles that would have allowed the Selectboard to appoint the town clerk and treasurer, Mary Mitchell, the assistant town clerk, said in a Monday phone interview. Instead, those offices will continue to be elected.

In addition, voters rejected another measure that would have allowed voting on public issues by ballot. Instead, voters will continue to vote on public questions from the floor.

There were roughly 90 to 100 people at the floor meeting, Mitchell said. Randolph has 3,704 registered voters.

Australian ballot voting on budgets and officers is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 7 Summer Street.
