Sydney Leggett, who has been serving as interim superintendent of the Plainfield and Cornish school districts, has been named to the permanent role. Leggett is also currently the superintendent of the Grantham school district and will leave that role this summer.

Leggett’s hiring was approved by the Cornish and Plainfield school boards at the beginning of March, according to an announcement from the boards.

“Both the Cornish and Plainfield school boards are very pleased Dr. Leggett will be stepping into this full time position and are excited to continue our work with her,” according to a statement from the boards. “Dr. Leggett has already shown to be a tremendous educational leader over this last year and we feel she is a terrific fit for both of our school districts.”

Leggett said the Grantham School Board is still in the process of hiring a superintendent and should be making a decision soon.
