Enfield — If you’re looking for the perfect family friendly activity this weekend, consider attending the Harvest Festival at the Enfield Shaker Museum.

The festival, now in its 30th year, takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults; $8 for children 13-17; $5 for children 12 and under; and $25 for families of three or more.

“It’s gone through many different hands throughout the years, but it’s really our longest running event,” said Kyle Sandler, education program coordinator at the Enfield Shaker Museum. “It’s definitely one of our most popular events”

The about a dozen or so crafts that will offered include candle making, spinning and weaving.

“We’ve added some new craft activities and we’ve expanded some of the one we have now,” Sandler said. “At each booth you can make something you can take home with you at the end of the festival.”

Most craft activities are geared toward children ages 7-12, but younger children can participate with help from adults. Adults are also welcome to take part in the crafts, which includes a new whisk broom workshop.

The festival also includes wagon rides, live music, pony rides, cider making and museum tours.

Last year, a rainstorm kept attendance numbers slightly down.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed,” Sandler said. “It looks like we’re going to have a beautiful day this Saturday.”
