Article of note: A petitioned warrant article would ask the School Board “to make all reasonable and prudent efforts to recover all, or a portion, of the value of the portable classroom which has been scheduled for demolition as part of the CTE Building Project.”

Contested races: Three candidates are vying for two three-year terms on the School Board: Darrell Jones, Kurt Minich and Melissa Mitchler.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed operating budget is $22.06 million, which includes a one-year collective bargaining agreement with support staff with a cost of $105,000. A separate article asks whether voters will support the cost of a new bargaining agreement with teachers with a cost of $373,000.

When, where and how to vote: Ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, March 12 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Newport Middle/High School gym, 245 North Main Street.
