WEST CANAAN — Mascoma Valley Regional School District voters on Tuesday approved a 1.7 percent budget increase, accepted a three-year contract with the district’s support staff and elected two School Board members in ballot votes.

The district’s $27.7 million budget passed, 998-249, with each of Mascoma’s five towns — Enfield, Canaan, Dorchester, Grafton and Orange — in support, according to preliminary results. The spending plan is a $460,900 increase over the current year.

Voters also approved a new contract with the Mascoma Valley Regional Support Staff, 765-489. Grafton was the only town to vote against the agreement (130-112), which is expected to increase district spending by about $66,428 next year.

There were two uncontested races for the School Board.

Hope Stragnell received 950 votes to win a three-year term representing Canaan, while incumbent Danielle Thompson received 967 votes for another term representing Enfield.
