THETFORD — Thetford Academy hosted a meet on its Woods Trail on Tuesday afternoon, with the host Panthers claiming second as a team in the boys race and third on the girls side.

Thetford claimed four spots in the top 12 in the boys race, led by Brady Sloop in second place at 18 minutes, 45 seconds. Sebastian Perdrizet took ninth (20:09), Ben Mattern was 11th in 20:14 and Elijah Renner was 12th in 20:16.

Woodstock’s James Underwood finished first for the boys with a blazing time of 18:26.

The Hartford boys finished just behind Thetford in third place, led by Bennett Moreno in fourth individually (19:31) and Jack Fournier-Stephens in 14th (20:40). Tomo Watanabe led the White River Valley boys to 19th place with a time of 21:09.

Anita Miller (second, 22:08) and Anya Young (fourth, 22:31) led a strong fourth-place team showing for the White River Valley girls.

The third-place Thetford girls were paced by Ava Hayden in third (22:15). The Panthers also had scoring runs by Lucia Carr (12th, 25:39), Annie Hesser (16th, 26:40) and Charlize Brown (17th, 26:43).

Izzy Cellini led the Woodstock girls in fifth (22:38), followed by Logan Knox in seventh (23:20) and Meyer McNaughton in 10th (24:34).

Boys team scores: Burr & Burton 44, Thetford 45, Hartford 90, Brattleboro 97, Woodstock 101, Springfield 167.

Girls team scores: Woodstock 59, Stratton Mountain 60, Thetford 71, White River Valley 96, Burr & Burton 98, Brattleboro 128, Bellows Falls 157.

FAIRLEE — The Hurricanes took second in a match on the par-34 front nine at Lake Morey Country Club.

Jaden Poirier and Sean Dunton each had rounds of 6-over-par 40 for the Canes. Thomas Thorburn added a 42, and Matthew Tsouknakis had a 44.

Luke Avery (41) and Parker Piper (44) paced Rivendell. Owen Kross (45) and Kyler Eaton (46) led the way for Woodstock. Carter Williams was second overall for Thetford with a 39. Lee Bevis shot 41 for Windsor.

Otter Valley’s Lucas Politano shot a 1-under 33 to claim medalist honors.

Hartford competes at the 18-hole Patriot Classic, hosted by Mount Anthony, on Wednesday.

Boys Soccer Hanover 3, Nashua South 1

NASHUA, N.H. — The Bears scored three unanswered goals to earn a quality road win in this rematch of the past two NHIAA Division I state championship games.

The hosts got on the board first, scoring two minutes into the contest. Hanover tied it up in the 31st minute on Carter Guerin’s goal, assisted by Charlie Forbush. The Bears then pulled in front when Zach Tracy scored a pair of goals in the first eight minutes of the second half to open what would be a dominant finish by the visitors.

“This is the first time we’ve beaten South in four years,” Hanover coach Rob Grabill said. “The seniors wanted this one.”

Guerin and Ryder Hayes each picked up assists on Tracy’s second-half strikes. Grabill praised the play of defenders Sam Ames and Sam Calderwood in front of keeper Wyatt Seelig (six saves).

The Bears (5-1-0) host Windham on Saturday at noon.

Hartford 8, Spaulding 0

BARRE, Vt. — The Hurricanes (2-1-0) scored four times in the first 15 minutes of the second half to turn what had been a 3-0 lead at the break into a laugher.

Sam Peckinpaugh scored a pair of goals in the first half. Tighe Hrabchak also scored before the break and then added another after. Gabe Guillette also had two goals. Cavan O’Brien and Jason Kelly rounded out the scoring with goals late. Hrabchak led the team with three assists. Alden Weld and Hayden Pascarelli each had one assist.

Hartford visits Middlebury on Friday.

Lebanon 2, Pelham 0

PELHAM, N.H. — The Raiders outlasted the Pythons to remain unbeaten at 6-0-0 this season.

Nick Brill converted for a goal off a rebound of Otto Bourne’s shot in the 25th minute to put Lebanon in front. Bennett Hewett then headed home a corner from Brill less than two minutes later for the second goal.

Keeper Zach Aldrich made two saves for Lebanon, which visits Bow on Friday.

Mascoma 5, Fall Mountain 0

LANGDON, N.H. — Brayden Pierce and Tanner Moulton each had two goals to lead the Royals (4-1-0) over the Wildcats.

James Thomas scored the other Mascoma goal. Moulton picked up three assists and Pierce had one. Keeper Matt Favreau had three saves to record his first shutout of the season.

Mascoma visits White Mountains on Thursday.

Girls Soccer Lebanon 2, Pelham 1

LEBANON — The Raiders scored twice in the final eight minutes to come back for the win against the Pythons.

The visitors broke open what had been a scoreless battle with a goal in the 65th minute. The Raiders answered in the 72nd minute when Sophie Longacre scored with an assist to Sydney Deshane. Annie Hanna followed with the game-winner at the 74:30 mark, converting with an assist from freshman junior varsity callup Adelie Premore.

Keeper Maezie Angles had six saves for Lebanon, which will host Bow on Friday.

Stevens 8, Newport 0

CLAREMONT — Kaiya Richard and Payton Ferland each scored twice to lead the Cardinals (4-1-1) over the Tigers (0-2-1).

Addison Derosier, Kiley Bundy, Kayleigh Ferland and Faith Norton also scored. Derosier had a team-best two assists. Richard, Payton Ferland, Maddy Chambers and Faith Norton also assisted.

Keeper Audrina Pelton anchored the Stevens defense in its second shutout of the season.

The Cardinals host Prospect Mountain on Friday night. Newport hosts Hinsdale on Thursday.

Windsor 4, Rivendell 2

ORFORD — The Yellowjackets earned a hard-fought win over the Raptors in the latest matchup of these rival schools.

Kemari Wildgoose and Olivia MacLeay had a goal and an assist each for Windsor. Audrey Rupp and Kenzie Westcott also scored.

Harper Traendly had a goal and an assist for Rivendell. Shaylee Carter also scored and Erin Ricker had one assist. Traendly’s goal put the Raptors in front early before the Yellowjackets answered a minute later on Wildgoose’s goal off a corner by MacLeay.

Windsor keeper Sophia Rockwood made six saves. Rivendell counterpart Wayan Cook also stopped six.

The Yellowjackets (3-0-0) host Woodstock on Friday. Rivendell (1-2-0) host Sharon on Saturday.

White River Valley 6, Sharon 1

SOUTH ROYALTON — Amara Calhum-Flowers had a hat trick to help the Wildcats (1-1-0) pull away from the Phoenix (0-4-0).

Cassie Armstrong added a pair for WRV. Ella LaFromboise scored once. Calhum-Flowers also had an assist. Avry Loftus scored for Sharon.

“These contests between close rivals are so fun. Sharon always brings a team that works well together. They have the ability to get through our back line, so we worked hard to close down those opportunities,” WRV coach Kim Prestridge said.

Prestridge rotated three players in goal: Imari Taylor, Rhianna Young and LaFromboise.

Both teams return to action on Friday when WRV hosts Bellows Falls and Sharon visits Long Trail.

Field Hockey Hanover 5, Bow 4 (OT)

HANOVER — Sophia Mancini’s game-winner in overtime helped the Bears win a thriller over the visiting Falcons.

Joia Collins assisted on the overtime game-winner. Birthday girl Eva Bell paced the Bears with three goals, two assisted by Savannah Walczak. Elena Simon also had an assist. Collins picked up a goal as well, with the assist to Mancini.

Goalie Guinevere Riordan had six saves for Hanover.

“Our last few practices have been focused on the offensive end. The girls really showed that tonight, capitalizing on our opportunities offensively,” Hanover coach Mallory MacKenzie said.

The Bears (4-2-0) host Plymouth on Friday.

Hartford 8, Lebanon 1

LEBANON — Madison Barwood had four goals and the Hurricanes topped Twin State rival Lebanon.

Kamryn Brower added a pair of goals for Hartford. Madi Willey and Olivia Seaver each had one. Willey, Brower, Paige Trombley and Flynn Moreno each had assists. Goalie Paige Vielleux played a strong game to anchor the Hartford defense.

Summer Crowell scored for Lebanon, assisted by Norah Burns.

Hartford (2-0-0) continues a New Hampshire swing at Hanover on Monday. Lebanon (1-4-0) hosts Sanborn on Thursday.
