WATERBURY, Vt. — A New Hampshire teen was arrested and charged with stealing a commercial truck and trailer after the vehicles and suspect were located at a rest area on Interstate 89 in Waterbury, Vt., on Wednesday.

The 17 year old is alleged to have stolen the truck in Lebanon on Tuesday evening and then driven it to St. Albans, Vt., where he hitched it onto a trailer before driving the rig and trailer south on I-89 before stopping at the Waterbury rest stop, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers took the juvenile into custody without incident and transported him to the Berlin Barracks, where he was charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property and aggravated operating without owner’s consent, police said.

Due to the suspect’s age, his identity is not being released by authorities.
